Royal Recognition for Life-Changing Charity Work: Jason and Gail O’Shea Receive MBEs from Prince William

Jason and Gail O’Shea, founders of the Essex-based children’s charity Wipe Away Those Tears, were officially awarded their MBEs by Prince William at Windsor Castle on the 13th of May. The Prince personally commended the couple for their remarkable dedication to supporting children with life-limiting illnesses—and even gave them a shout-out on his official Instagram feed.

The O’Sheas were named in the New Year Honours List in recognition of their 18 years of transformative work. Since founding the charity, they have raised over £2 million and supported more than 1,000 children by funding specialist equipment and granting heartfelt wishes—from Disneyland Paris adventures to bespoke wheelchairs.

Jason, who also serves as Managing Director of FOS.net, said, “We’ve been incredibly lucky in life, and it’s important to give back. This recognition is a reflection of the kindness of everyone who has supported us.”

Gail added, “Our mission is to bring joy and relief to families facing incredibly tough circumstances. This honour inspires us to continue our work.”

The couple’s efforts are amplified by FOS.net, which covers all administrative costs for the charity—ensuring that every donation goes directly to children in need.

With royal recognition and public support behind them, Jason and Gail remain committed to bringing light into the lives of families during their darkest moments.
