Introducing Microsoft Teams Premium with ChatGPT

ChatGPT is included with the new PREMIUM edition of Teams. It simplifies meetings for Microsoft Teams users by automating tasks such as generating meeting notes. It documents meaningful discussions and decisions made during the meeting, providing all team members with a clear record. This approach facilitates following up on action items and tracking progress.

ChatGPT also recommends tasks to users, making it easier for them to track what needs to be done after the meeting. This process benefits team members who may have missed some of the discussion during the meeting or are new to a project. The chatbot’s recommendations help ensure that no tasks are missed and that everyone is on the same page.

Finally, ChatGPT can create meeting templates for Teams users. This feature can save team members time, as they no longer must create meeting agendas and other templates from scratch. The chatbot can create templates based on the team’s previous meetings, making it easy to set up new appointments and get started quickly.

Microsoft Teams Premium is a Teams add-on license that allows organisations with Microsoft 365 subscriptions to enhance their Teams experience as follows:

  • More personalised and intelligent meetings and webinars.
  • Enhanced protection for meetings.
  • Advanced management and reporting capabilities for IT.
  • Advanced Virtual Appointments.

You might have noticed an update was rolled out for Microsoft Teams over the last few days, and Premium is now generally available. To mark this official release of their product, Microsoft has made Teams Premium available at a discounted rate for the next five months. The monthly cost is £5.00 per month, rising to £8.00 in July.

Microsoft has said that Microsoft Teams Premium has the goal to make each meeting more “intelligent, personalised, and protected” using AI. Added extras such as highlighting personalised time markers will also become available. These will help to identify when you have joined and left a meeting and show you insights such as when your name was mentioned for example.
